BL6 Admission Information and Key Dates
All students in Year 11, from within Brine Leas as well as from other secondary schools, who are thinking of entering BL6 will need to complete an Application Form to express their interest and to initially specify the courses they wish to study. To ensure their course choices are considered during the timetable construction process, applications to BL6 must be submitted during the Autumn Term of Year 11, no later than 15th December 2017. Applications are considered during the Spring Term, however, they will not be used to plan the courses on offer and the timetable structure for the following year. In order to meet the ‘sibling link’ criteria for Year 7 joining Brine Leas School in September 2018, applications for entry to BL6 must be received by 1st December 2017.

Our Sixth Form aims to encourage high aspirations and high expectations. To qualify for entry into the Sixth Form, students will need to obtain at least 5 GCSE passes (at grade C/4 or above). In general, we also expect that subjects to be studied at Sixth Form level should (where applicable) have been passed with at least a grade B (grade 6 for reformed subjects) at GCSE. Specific course requirements can be found within our course guides and on our website.
